State Restaurant has always provided outstanding cuisine, service, and atmosphere. They wanted to take their service and customer satisfaction to a whole new level by handing each customer an Android tablet when they walk in the door. The tablet would run a dedicated application (app) that would provide a significantly enhanced dining experience. After careful consideration, State Restaurant selected SD3 to design and develop their mobile app.
The app was required to provide the customer with a rich graphical representation of the menu and beer selections along with useful information and other unique features that makes the dining process very special. The tablet was required to be locked down so only this app could run.
SD3 gathered all of the necessary details, content, and graphics for the app. Then we designed, developed, and tested the app with representatives from State Restaurant. We deployed the app to several Android tablets that are now being used at the restaurant.
Customers are amazed. It is a new experience for them to be handed a tablet computer when they walk in the door. They are able to learn about the background and history of items on the menu including the variety of beer selections. This allows them to make a more informed decision. They talk about the cool use of technology and unique dining experience with their friends and business partners leading to more business for the restaurant. The app is proving to be a real differentiator in a very competitive marketplace.

A hospital system that relies on communication of critical and highly private patient information needed a safe way to do so electronically. The forward-thinkers at SD3 developed an app enabling chiefs, residents and nurses to securely send and receive images and/or messages. This required creation of a custom camera application to keep images off the “camera roll” for security and yet still gave full control of image details.
